Every month we sit down with one of our amazing ABA members to get to know them a little better! We ask each member the same questions, providing an opportunity for our members to highlight the important work that they do in our communities. If you’re an ABA Member and would like to be considered for future Monthly Member Highlights, please reach out to us via email at info@altonbusinessassociation.com.
Tell us about your business
We are a multifaceted shop, located at 15 N Main St, Wolfeboro, NH. We have Lego new and used sets, minifigures, Magic the Gathering, a build-zone for building with Lego, and we host parties!
Tell us about yourself
Matt and I moved to Wolfeboro 3 years ago (I was moving back after leaving for 20 years). We are happy to be a part of the community. We are easy going and love to bring something unique.
How did your business get started?
Matt has always been a fan of Lego. We started by collecting and selling on Ebay. Matt loved the idea of a used Lego shop in CT and I wanted to bring a place where kids could have an indoor non electronic activity so the build-zone concept was born.
What has your relationship with the Alton Business Association done for you or your business?
We are recent ABA members and look forward to see how we can work together.
What do you value most about this community?
The support we have had so many people that now come in and chat even when they aren’t looking to purchase and we love how welcomed we have been.
Why did you want to open your business in this community?
I grew up here and my husband has grown to love it, and our kids are in school here. We wanted to bring something for kids (and kids at heart) that would bring joy.
What business accomplishment are you most proud of?
We are a newer business and we are just proud we have been able to figure it out…..with lots of support from family and friends.
What does the future hold for you and your business?
We are continually looking to grow and adjust for what the community might have interest in.
What is one piece of advice you wish you had as a new business owner?
Don’t be afraid to ask successful small businesses for advice! Then listen and take it in and decide what works for you.
How can people who want to learn more about you or your business get in touch with you?
