Q:  Tell us about your business?

A:  Turtle Kraal RV Park has 147 oversized seasonal sites, open May 1 -October 18. Every site has town water, 100 amp. electric and a sewer connection. there is a spring-fed pond with a sandy beach, a pool, a modern, clean bathhouse and we have access to The Merrymeeting River. The park is pet friendly and Big Rig friendly. RV and boat storage is available. The park is family run, opening in 2013.

Q: Tell us about yourself:

A: Bob Carleton is the owner/developer. He and his father started Water Industries, next door. Bob’s son now has the business which has been in operation for 60 years. Bob developed Hale’s Location, in New Hampshire and developed the park in 2012, opening in 2013. Bob spends 6 months in NH and lives in FL during the Winter.

Q:  How did your business get started?

A:  The property was a gravel and sand pit: Alton Sand & Gravel. In order to reclaim the land, the park was developed for a family run business.

Q:  What has your relationship with the Alton Business Association done for you or
your business?

A:  Bob Carleton owned and managed Water Industries in Alton.

Q:  What do you value most about this community?

A:  We appreciate that Alton is a small town with businesses 1 minute away and the lake 2 minutes away. we also appreciate a 2-minute 911 response time! Our guests appreciate having a grocery store, restaurants, banks, a post office, etc. close in proximity.

Q: Why did you want to open your business in this community?

A:  Bob Carleton owned the land for years. It has the perfect setting for an RV Park, close to town yet tucked away.

Q: What business accomplishment are you most proud of?

A:  Developing Hale’s Location in New Hampshire which includes a golf course and an 80 room hotel.

Q: What does the future hold for you and your business?

A:  Turtle Kraal RV Park will remain in the family and will be run by family members.

Q:  What is one piece of advice you wish you had as a new business member?

A: Be sure you have staying power because I found it took 7 years of hard work and long hours in both Hale’s Location and Turtle Kraal RV Park to get to the “successful” stage.

Q:  How can people who want to learn more about you or your business get in
touch with you?

A: Preferably, by email: nhflyboy@aol.com
