March Member Highlight:
Every month we sit down with one of our amazing ABA members to get to know them a little better! For March, we spoke with Ronne & Gracie Hanson, Owners of Rayne Refillery. We ask each member the same questions, providing an opportunity for our members to highlight the important work that they do in our communities. If you’re an ABA Member and would like to be considered for future Monthly Member Highlights, please reach out to us via email at info@altonbusinessassociation.com
Q: Tell us about your business?
A: Rayne Refillery is a low waste refill store that was thoughtfully founded to bring sustainable, eco-friendly, less waste products to you. We carefully curate products that are good for you and good for the earth. Here in the USA, 95% of our plastic is in landfills and oceans – it does not get recycled. The solution is to reduce, reuse, and refill.
As a low waste refill store, you can reuse and refill your own container with our bulk items. We also offer grab and go items that are offered in refillable containers such as aluminum or glass. We source and hand make ourselves only the best items that meet our values; socially good, eco-friendly, sustainably made with natural, organic ingredients, cruelty free, and more. Our goal is to reduce our plastic footprint, one plastic bottle at a time! We invite you to join us!
Life Fills Good 🌿
Q: Tell us about yourself:
A: Ronnie and Gracie are a mother / daughter team. Ronnie is a registered nurse with a clinical background in Emergency Services and specializes in Risk and Patient Safety. Gracie is a University student, studying Business Administration. Gracie is passionate about creating art of many different mediums. With our family we live locally in New Durham and are proud to be working together on such an important issue.
Q: How did your business get started?
A: We have always wanted to work together and discussed many potential opportunities. Focusing on low waste was an important aspect in whatever we decided to choose. We ended up settling on Rayne Refillery to create a space where low waste living is fun, easy and affordable. We opened our shop in Alton in September 2022.
Q: What has your relationship with the Alton Business Association done for you or
your business?
A: Alton Business Association has welcomed us with open arms and support. Our grand opening was hosted by them with personal touches from Christy and Kelly.
Q: What do you value most about this community?
A: The Alton community is a beautiful area with access to many activities and shops. We value being a part of Alton where the community is open to new ideas and ways of shopping and have been a major support system in our journey thus far.
Q: Why did you want to open your business in this community?
A: We are local to this area and wanted to share our passion with the community.
Q: What business accomplishment are you most proud of?
A: In our first few months of opening we have refilled 4,000 ounces of product and saved 250 single use plastic containers from oceans and landfills.
Q: What does the future hold for you and your business?
A: We are expanding our online shop to be able to offer and ship quality, low waste products to all of the United States. We are opening a second brick and mortar shop in Rochester, NH in the Summer of 2023.
Q: What is one piece of advice you wish you had as a new business member?
A: We feel so lucky to have had such a smooth opening of our business and appreciate all advice that has come our way. We would offer that owning a business has its ups and downs. We focus on our passion and do our best to enjoy even the smallest of victories.
Q: How can people who want to learn more about you or your business get in
touch with you?
