July News

A few words from our ABA Chair, Christy Painchaud

Can you believe July is already coming to an end?? I don’t know about you guys but this summer is flying by!  It’s been challenging to embrace all the outdoor summer fun with all the rain we’ve had, but I will say I’ve enjoyed the break from watering my flowers every day (lol)!   Speaking of flowers, have you noticed all the beautiful flowers around town? Did you know the Alton Garden Club volunteers plant AND maintain these and our ABA Member Sunflower Gardens donates all the wave petunias? It’s generous acts of kindness such as this and volunteers who care, that keep our community thriving!

We have many upcoming events in our community over the next few months, so please catch up on the happenings below!  We’ve also added a job posting section to our monthly newsletter. If you’re an ABA Member and are hiring, please be sure to send us your job listing so we can help share it!

I can’t wait to see everyone at all the events during the Town of Alton “Old Home Week” Celebrations in August, which is hosted by the Town of Alton, Old Home Week Committee.  Our Parade Committee is in high gear working to bring our town an amazing Old Home Day Parade on August 14th @ 10 am!  The ABA will also have a tent at the Town Block Party and we’ll be hosting the Kid’s Movie Night in the Bay. (Scroll down for more event details and learn to how to be a parade participant or sponsor!)

Our members participation and sponsorships are what keep our community events going strong! We hope to see more of our Member’s faces at our next Member Meeting on August 5th!

Stay safe and soak up the rest of this summer season!
THANK YOU for being a part of AND supporting the ABA mission!  ~Christy
