January News
A few words from our ABA Chair, Christy Painchaud
HAPPY 2023 ABA FRIENDS!
It’s the last day of January so I can still wish everyone a
Happy New Year, right?!
I hope everyone is kicking the year off on a healthy and positive note! It’s that time of year when the “winter blues” can make an appearance… so be sure to get outside every day for some Vitamin D, check on those loved ones who live alone…. AND you guessed it make sure to SHOP + SUPPORT LOCAL to help keep our small businesses afloat during these slow months (check out our
Member Directory here)! Think… checking out a store or restaurant in town you’ve never been to… or hopping in a yoga class or treating yourself to massage, haircut, new jeans or snowmobile (hah!!)… it’s all about self-care in one way or another!
I also wanted to take a moment and thank our local Public Works Department, first responders and local snowplow removal businesses who have been working around the clock to keep our roads safe during the winter weather!
Tomorrow is February 1st… and you know what that means… it’s Winter Carnival month AND I’m looking forward to seeing all our community friends at our
Alton Bay Winter Carnival Fundraiser Event on
Sunday, February 19th from 10 am -2 pm!
Did you know this is the largest fundraiser of the year hosted by yours truly, The Alton Business Association AND it’s also one of the largest community events in Alton! So please know our Winter Carnival Committee has been working diligently over the past few months to bring an amazing Family Fun Winter Event to our community….
so don’t miss it!
Stay safe this Winter and don’t underestimate black ice, ever!
And if our big lake ever freezes over, please use caution when walking or driving out on the ice! Cheers to Health + Happiness in 2023!
~Christy
