Well Winter has finally arrived in NH and I don’t know about you guys, but I’m embracing all the snowy fun this season brings! Last weekend we wrapped up our largest annual fundraiser event of the year, the ABA Alton Winter Carnival. While this event was so much different than years past, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we were happy to still be able to provide some winter fun for our community! It was incredibly HEARTWARMING to see so many families get out and visit the Bay and snap selfies posing next to our sponsored Winter Carnival Ice Sculptures! We sold over 3000 tickets for our Winter Carnival Virtual Fundraising Raffle too! My take away after this event, is that we are a thriving community supported by CARING business owners and residents! Our heart ice sculpture had a quote engraved on it that read, “The Act of Giving is the Heart of Happiness and Community!” We are one HAPPY and GIVING community, throughout Alton and beyond! Keep on spreading the LOVE, from supporting our local businesses to helping an elderly neighbor shovel (or plow) their driveway this winter season. Together, we can do great things and THANK YOU for being a part of AND supporting the ABA mission! ~Christy
Please view the links of our NEW MEMBERS and check out their businesses! You never know when you can make a recommendation for a local business or service to someone, or better yet give them a call for your own needs! #belocal #buylocal #supportlocal
Monthly Member Highlight: Northeast Security Agency
Every month we sit down with one of our amazing ABA members to get to know them a little better! For January, we sat down with Craig Stevenson from Northeast Security Agency. We ask each member the same questions, providing an opportunity for our members to highlight the important work that they do in our communities. If you’re an ABA Member and would like to be considered for future Monthly Member Highlights, please reach out to us via email at info@altonbusinessassociation.com
A huge THANK YOU to our event sponsors who helped make the 2021 Winter Carnival possible! A special thank you to Profile Bank for their sponsorship too, which didn’t make the deadline for banner print, but we wanted to publicly acknowledge their support! Our amazing sponsors enabled us to purchase three beautiful Ice Sculptures (pictured below and designed by Ice Designs by Jeff Day) for our community to enjoy!
THANK YOU so much to everyone who purchased raffle tickets to support our Winter Carnival Virtual Raffle Fun(raising) event!
Thank you again to everyone who participated and joined us for some Winter Carnival fun!! We look forward to getting back on the ICE in person for this event next year! (Due to connectivity issues in the Bay, we were not able to go “live” on Facebook for the raffle drawing and bob house winners, but you can watch the video recorded replay here.)
Bob House Decorating Contest Winners!
Thank you again to our participants and our sponsor Dockside NH for making everyone a winner with Dockside gift cards!!

Event Details
The Alton Business Association is excited to host the 2023 Alton Old Home Day Parade on Saturday, August 12th at 11:30 am! The parade will start at Jones Field through Letter S. Rd and end in Alton Bay (approximately 1 mile). The parade line-up will begin at 10:30 am at Jones Field (more detailed instructions to follow).
We invite you to get creative and build a float, drive a prized possessed car and stroll along with us! This is a great opportunity to join together in a family fun event! It’s also a great opportunity to engage in a business or organization team morale booster too (while also promoting your business and organization)!
Registration and participation is FREE! Volunteers are welcome to serve on our Parade Planning Committee!
We can’t wait to see all the creative FLOATS this year, but we will NOT be judging them or having a contest… Just good ole’ fun and encouraging others to share their community SPIRIT!
The theme of the Alton Old Home Week is coming soon, so stay tuned!
Please complete this online parade registration no later than 8/6/2023.
All parade participants must sign a Town of Alton waiver liability form, which will be provided to you after you register or on the day of the parade.
PLEASE do not throw anything from a float or vehicles. Due to lengthy road closures and distance of the previous year’s route, we are alternating our route this year in hopes it will encourage more walker participation and not cause our main roads and business to be adversely impacted. We appreciate your patience and support as we try this new route this year! SPECTATORS take note on the route!!
All parade participants must clean up anything that falls off your float or formation. This includes trash debris and solid animal feces as well.
THANK YOU for being a part of this Town Pride and Community Building Event!
