A few words from our ABA Chair, Christy Painchaud

Well I think it’s pretty fair to say that 2020 has been one challenging year and we’ll all be happy when it’s behind us!  But like with many hardships and losses in life, I hope you find the silver lining in this year’s message, which will be different for all of us.  Despite all the bumps and roadblocks we were presented this year, we still maintained the course to focus on helping our businesses thrive and survive this year!   Instead of stopping our mission, we had to double down and work extra hard to advocate and help our community business owners! No, it wasn’t easy and took a lot of behind the scenes work from your ABA Board of Directors and Members, but we made it work with the resources we had.  From Zoom and outside member meetings to Virtual events and Covid Comeback Cards, we managed to SURVIVE 2020! I’m extremely proud that we closed the year out with 83 ABA Members strong, (nearly doubling our membership from the prior year)!  So the sliver lining for the ABA this year is not to focus on all the community in person events that didn’t happen, but about all the new members and outreach we gained AND how our community grew stronger together during a global pandemic!   ~Christy
