ABA December Monthly Member Highlight:

Brett Foster, Owner of Foster’s Tavern

Every month we sit down with one of our amazing ABA members to get to know them a little better! For December, we spoke with Brett Foster, Owner of Foster’s Tavern. We ask each member the same questions, providing an opportunity for our members to highlight the important work that they do in our communities. If you’re an ABA Member and would like to be considered for future Monthly Member Highlights, please reach out to us via email at info@altonbusinessassociation.com

Q:  Tell us about your business?

A:  Family restaurant with a sports tavern feel offering the coldest beer in town, burgers, wings, pizza and amazing specials!

Q: Tell us about yourself:

A:  My family has been summering in Alton since I was a baby as my extended family has lived here for a long time. It’s always been somewhere I wanted to live so this just felt right.

Q:  How did your business get started?

A:  I’ve always wanted to open a restaurant with my family and luckily everything fell into place for that dream to come true. We opened the week before Memorial Day and have been keeping busy since.

Q:  What has your relationship with the Alton Business Association done for you or
your business?

A:  I went to a mixer a little while before we opened and it was great to meet new local businesses. I ended up using the services of a few members I met that evening. The ABA has helped get the word out about my new restaurant so that has been a huge help.

Q:  What do you value most about this community?

A:  The people, a family atmosphere, and the natural beauty. Everyone I have met have been gracious and outgoing to help me feel welcomed.

Q: Why did you want to open your business in this community?

A:  I’ve always loved Alton since I first roller skated at the rink when I was 7. I felt Foster’s Tavern is what Alton needed and it’s where I’ve always wanted to live someday.

Q: What business accomplishment are you most proud of?

A: I opened haha!

Q: What does the future hold for you and your business?

A:  I hope to be a local pillar in the community and contribute to Alton as much as possible. I’d like to see Alton grow but still keep the serene small-town feel.

Q:  What is one piece of advice you wish you had as a new business member?

A:  I am so new it is hard to say as I still have a lot to learn! I would say trust the advice of the people who have been in your industry for a long time.

Q:  How can people who want to learn more about you or your business get in
touch with you?
A: Always welcome to stop by the restaurant or email me at fosterstbtb@gmail.com
