August News
Phew… I can’t believe there’s only a few days left in August! This has been one BUSY month for our little community as we celebrated The Town of Alton Old Home Week! This year I was honored to serve on the Old Home Week Committee, which is a town sponsored event MADE POSSIBLE by businesses + organizations hosting multiple events throughout the week! It was humbling to work alongside other volunteers who work tirelessly for months planning this community celebration. This year’s theme was “To Gather Again” as our town celebrated 225 years of Alton History and gather YOU DID!
THANK YOU to our entire community of supporters, sponsors and volunteers who highlighted their COMMUNITY PRIDE over these past few weeks! I’d like to send a special thank you to our ABA MEMBERS who took the time to organize and host events during Old Home Week; Alton Centennial Rotary-block party and art contest, Bayside Diner for the chili cook-off, Community Church of Alton- spaghetti supper and hymn sing, Alton Bay Christian Conference Center, Christine O’Brien Real Estate & The Hershey Family -kids movie in the bay, Shibley’s and Stillwell’s for donating ice cream, Cuddly Creations-mobile stuffed animal factory, and Maxfield Real Estate -car show. I’m so proud to live in small town with great people, doing good things for others! I hope to see this momentum carry on as we continue to gather for many more future community events!
Please take a moment to catch some of this past month’s highlights below and mark your calendars for some fun upcoming fall and winter events! Our 3rd Annual Harvest Happenings Event is just around the corner on October 16th!
Thank you for continuing to support to our local businesses! Stay safe and savor this last week of summer before the kiddos head back to school!
