Alton’s Old Home Day Parade 2026
August 8, 2026 at 11:30 AM
Hosted by the Alton Business Association
This year’s theme is Hometown USA: 250 Years Strong.
Grab a spot along the route and take in the whole show. The parade steps off from Alton Central School, winds past Mill Pond, down Route 11, and finishes in Alton Bay.
Watch the floats, cheer on the marchers, and catch the fire trucks at Mill Pond as they join the lineup. The whole route is worth the trip.
Today, Alton Bay is the destination! After the parade, stick around for the craft fair, the NH Boat Museum Alton Bay Boat Show, and live music by BITTERSWEET in the evening courtesy of Alton Parks and Recreation.
Want to be part of the parade itself? Everyone is welcome. Build a float, drive a classic vehicle, or walk with your family, friends, or organization. Participation is free.

If you are passionate about the ABA and the Alton community, we encourage you to consider stepping up. Board service is a meaningful way to shape the direction of our organization and support the businesses that make Alton and the Lakes Region thrive.

ABA Members, please submit your nomination HERE. Email your resume and a brief letter of interest to info@altonbusinessassociation.com.

Thank you for supporting local!

SUP-NH Chosen for NH Parks and Rec Campaign, Showcasing Water Sports in Alton Bay

Lake Winnipesaukee’s first stand-up paddleboard company selected as on-camera expert for state tourism initiative

ALTON BAY, NH — SUPNH, the first stand-up paddleboard company on Lake Winnipesaukee, has been featured in the State of New Hampshire’s Wildly Responsible NH campaign, a statewide initiative promoting responsible outdoor recreation across New Hampshire’s lakes, trails, and waterways.

Founder Chris Shields was selected by NH State Parks and Recreation to appear on camera as a subject matter expert. Shields provided equipment for the production and led a paddle tour for the film crew following the shoot, with filming conducted on location in Alton Bay.

“It’s an honor to represent New Hampshire’s waters in this campaign,” said Shields. “Responsible recreation is something we’ve built this business around from day one, so it means a lot to see that recognized at the state level.”

SUPNH was founded more than 18 years ago, before stand-up paddleboarding had taken hold in the Lakes Region. The company offers paddleboard rentals and recreational programs on Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Wentworth.

“Chris has been doing this longer than most people have known what a paddleboard is,” said Sarah Goodrum, Chairperson of the Alton Business Association. “Having SUPNH represent New Hampshire in a statewide campaign is exactly the kind of recognition this community deserves.”

The Wildly Responsible NH commercial is expected to air summer 2026. More information is available at supnh.com.

About SUPNH
