Every month we sit down with one of our amazing ABA members to get to know them a little better! We ask each member the same questions, providing an opportunity for our members to highlight the important work that they do in our communities. If you’re an ABA Member and would like to be considered for future Monthly Member Highlights, please reach out to us via email at info@altonbusinessassociation.com.
Q: Tell us about your business?
A: Laurianne Bennett is the proud owner of Bennett Freedom Farm LLC, a thriving farm-to-table cottage food business
dedicated to bringing the freshest, most delicious homemade products directly from her farm to your table. As a
veteran-owned, woman-powered enterprise, Laurianne’s business stands out not just for its unique offerings but also for
its commitment to quality and community.
Q: Tell us about yourself:
A: Laurianne is a certified Master Food Preserver through Cornell University and a Master Gardner through UNE, is a
testament to her expertise and commitment to preserving the bounty of her farm. Her culinary creations are not only
tasty but also crafted with a deep understanding of food preservation techniques. She believes that sharing food is an
expression of love, a philosophy she embodies in every product she makes.
Q: How did your business get started?
A: From a very young age I would garden and preserve, ‘canning’ with my grandmother. She taught me the importance
of knowing where your food is derived from and how to preserve it for the future, I loved picking those sweet berries and
going in and making them into something delicious. These experiences were the building blocks for my love of
agriculture and food security practices. So I took that passion to the next level by forming a business bringing new
revenue into the farm.
Q: What has your relationship with the Alton Business Association done for you or your business?
A: The Market on Main was my first farmer’s market. I am so appreciative to Christy who taught me a lot and
introduced me to ABA. The ABA is where I have met and gained valuable business knowledge. ABA has help me and
my business grow! I no longer do the market, due to the fact that I am now in stores and still growing. That is due to fact
that the organization and it’s members, like Christy help me get there.
Thank you!!!
Q: What do you value most about this community?
A: The warm hardworking people.
Q: Why did you want to open your business in this community?
A: What better place to start than your own backyard.

A: I have to say the Winter carnival was amazing! Not only did I sell out of just about everything I got to meet so many
wonderful people, even Kelly Ayotte.
Q: What does the future hold for you and your business?
A: We are looking to add a few Yurts to our 22-acre farm. We will be introducing this glamping experience next year. In
addition, will be setting up a webpage and building a better social platform for the business.
